The NEOSTAR 3P54 490W is built on AIKO’s ABC (All Back Contact) cells, which is the headline feature. All the wiring sits on the back of the cell, so there are no busbars or gridlines breaking up the front face. More of the surface collects light, and that’s how AIKO reaches 24.5% efficiency on the 490W, which is among the highest you’ll find on a residential panel. It also gives the panel a clean, uniform black look with no silver lines running across it.
It performs well in the heat. The temperature coefficient is -0.26%/°C, a touch better than most panels, so it holds its output when the roof warms up. Degradation is low too: 1% in the first year, then 0.35% a year after that, with the panel still guaranteed to produce 88.85% of its rated output at 30 years.
It’s built for Australian conditions. The panel handles front loads up to 5400Pa and rear loads up to 2400Pa, has an IP68 junction box against dust and water, and is tested against 40mm hail at 27.5 metres per second. AIKO backs it with a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, with Munich RE as the warranty partner.
