Tindo Solar panels made in South Australia

More and more customers are requesting Australian-made solar panels. You asked, we deliver.

Introducing our new Tindo Karra 315W solar panels from Adelaide – this smart SolarEdge system with Tesla Powerwall 2 lets you enjoy total energy independence.

At the heart of the Tindo Karra photovoltaic module is a brilliant design fused with a range of innovative materials that make it the ultimate PV panel. The Tindo Karra 315W PERC monocrystalline panel fits more power into less space. The development of this module was made possible with the help of the Australian National University in Canberra.

Why Go Solar

Why go Solar

Photovoltaic panels are quickly becoming a popular source of energy for many Australians due to the many benefits they offer. Our climate also makes it an ideal setup for maximising the power of the sun.

There are four main reasons for switching to solar energy.

1. Save on bills

This is the arguably the most significant benefit of going solar. After the initial purchase and installation, you can start generating free electricity so your panels eventually pay for themselves.

2. Help the environment breathe

PV panels absorb energy from the sun and convert this to electricity for your home, thereby helping reduce or eliminate your greenhouse gas emissions.

3. Store or sell

When you go solar, you have the option to consume the free electricity or sell it back to the grid for a competitive feed-in tariff.

4. Government incentives

In order to encourage residents to switch to solar energy, the Australian government offers generous financial incentives up to as much as $4,000 for a new system.

What makes Tindo Solar Panels stand out

Tindo Karra 315W PERC monocrystalline solar panels are manufactured in Tindo’s Mawson Lakes facility, right at the heart of Technology Park near the University of South Australia campus.

Tindo’s state-of-the-art 60MW production line in Adelaide is fully automated with a particular focus on quality control and sophisticated engineering.

1. Bridgestone EVA

EVA from Bridgestone has a long history of providing solar encapsulation of the highest quality. This technology is optically clear, impervious to water, and lasts for decades.

2. Dow Corning Silicone

The silicone edge seal from Dow Corning has been proven to outperform all competition in cohesiveness and lap shear strength.

3. DuPont Back Sheet

DuPont Tedlar film-based back sheets act as a vapour barrier to protect the sensitive components in each panel. Tedlar is the only film-based back sheet that has been proven to protect solar panels for more than 25 years.

4. Enphase Micro Inverters

Seventh-generation Enphase microinverters are dust-resistant, rated up to 85°C, and have an IP67 rating for moisture resistance. They are also fully potted with integrated earthing and feature reactive power control for future smart grids.

5. Electroluminescence Testing

There are numerous defects in a solar module that cannot be detected by the naked eye. These include:

  • Fingerprints left behind during cell grid printing
  • Microcracks due to heat stress while stringing
  • Defective contact points between ribbons and cells
  • Cracks during production or transportation

These are not minor defects; they can significantly degrade the quality of solar modules and lead to reduced output over time. Each Tindo solar module is carefully scrutinised with electroluminescence to detect any internal defects.

6. Flash Testing

The final step in the production line is flash testing. During this process, the solar panel is exposed to a flash of light from a xenon filled arc lamp. The result of this test validates the performance of each panel as rated to its specifications.

7. Visual Inspection

There are numerous visual inspection points along the assembly line to ensure that Tindo panels are Made-for-Life. These include:

  • Making sure that there are no air bubbles or blisters in the lamination
  • Checking if the junction box has been sealed correctly to the back of the module
  • Making sure that framing has a watertight seal to protect the cells

8. The Tindo guarantee

Tindo Karra solar modules are guaranteed to give you a minimum of 25 years of optimum performance. With a module fleet failure rate that is 200 times lower than the competition, Tindo offers a product warranty of 12 years for your long-term security.

Choosing Your Solar Panel

Choosing your Solar Panel

Each household is different, so it is best to discuss your needs with one of our solar energy experts here at Aztech. Many factors need to be considered when choosing your solar system – the size of your house, orientation of your roof, electricity consumption habits of your family, and, of course, your budget.

The average Australian household usually starts with a 5kW unit which operates at 85% efficiency and receives an average of 4.5 hours of peak sunlight per day. From this setup, you can expect an output of around 15kWh per day during winter and over 25kWh in the summer.

The Aztech Solar Installation Process

The Aztech Solar installation process

After discussing your options and deciding on what solar setup you are interested, we can send a contractor to visit your property. Assessment of your roof space allows us to offer advice about the size and location of your panel system. It also gives us an idea of how to approach installation.

Not having enough roof space on your house should not deter you from going solar. Our experienced technicians know that the roof is not the only spot for efficient solar lighting. Sheds, carports, and garages can work well in providing extra space.

A roof angle between 30˚ and 45˚ is ideal. However, our energy consultants can find a way to install an energy-efficient system for you even if your roof is flat or has an unusual orientation.

Some homeowners worry about the aesthetics of their home – will solar panels ruin that beautiful roof you worked hard to design? You’ll be glad to know that we create a three-dimensional image of how your panels would look on your roof before installing them. Thanks to advanced design software, we can show you the final result and make adjustments according to your taste.

After getting your stamp of approval, our Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited technician will install your system at a time that suits you.
